Helping Clients Meet the Challenge of Solo Aging

Do you have clients who are single? Married without children? Have adult children who live far away?  Is extended family not a part of their daily life?  If you answered yes to any of these, you are have Solo Agers as clients.    

If you have clients who will be aging on their own at some future point, we invite you to attend this presentation and learn what to consider as you help them weigh their options and make decisions about their care plan and living arrangements. Dr. Sara Zeff Geber will focus on: identifying what matters most; identifying resources in lieu of family to provide care in later life; understanding housing options; and, in general, navigating post-retirement life as a Solo Ager.

This interactive presentation and discussion will provide you with the information you can share with your clients on how to be their own best advocate in the years ahead and understand the steps to take in building a happy, safe, and secure life, regardless of family support.  Although the topic is serious in nature, Dr. Geber's style is light-hearted, conversational, and provocative.

 
This presentation is based on Sara’s new book, Essential Retirement Planning for Solo Agers. Sara defines a Solo Ager as anyone, single or partnered, who does not have children or is aging alone for any reason.
