A Conversation with Philanthropic Change Agent Kat Taylor

Elizabeth Brown, President and CEO of Community Foundation Sonoma County will interview philanthropist Kat Taylor about the wide range of strategies she and her husband Tom Steyer utilize to achieve their large social mission.  Kat is intent on changing the food and banking systems through business models and philanthropy. To gain insights for aligning banking with benefit to all, she and Tom started Beneficial State Bank in 2007.  Beneficial State Bank is owned in the public interest, reinvesting profits into the low-resources communities it serves and the earth upon which we all depend.  Kat and Tom also utilize the TomKat Charitable Trust, donor-advised funds, large scale advocacy efforts and even film producing to optimize philanthropic impact for the greatest societal value.
