Administration of Special Needs Trusts

A Special Needs Trust (SNT) is a useful tool when planning for the care and support needs of a disabled child or adult.  When properly drafted and administered, distributions can be made from the SNT to the disabled beneficiary for certain expenses while maintaining eligibility for public benefits.  An improperly drafted SNT or the failure by the trustee to understand the types of expenses that can be paid with SNT funds can result in a loss of the disabled beneficiary’s public benefits.  Janice Sternfeld, a Santa Rosa attorney highly experienced in counseling clients with respect to the creation of and administration of SNTs, as well as securing public benefits for disabled children and adults, will make a presentation on the administration of SNTs and the issues that can impact a beneficiary’s eligibility for public benefits.

This program will be a live presentation, with a limited Zoom simulcast for those members and guests that are unable to attend in person due to COVID concerns.
