"Advanced 1031 Strategies"

Under Section 1031 of the United States Internal Revenue Code, a taxpayer may defer recognition of capital gains and related federal income tax liability on the exchange of certain types of property, a process known as a 1031 exchange. Scott Haislet will present a brief refresher of 1031 exchange basics, then dive into 1031 “reverse” and “improvement” exchanges, including discussion of 2-year exchange period under Bartell and building 1031 replacement property improvements on taxpayer’s currently-held property.
This program will be a live presentation, with a limited Zoom simulcast for those members and guests that are unable to attend in person due to COVID concerns.
