Due to the recent spike in Covid cases locally, after the holidays, and out of extreme caution, we will move the entire event for January 5th to a virtual ZOOM ONLY meeting. We apologize for the late notice but wanted to wait as long as we could to try for in-person this month.
Our current plan is to return to in-person indoors, in-person outdoors, and Zoom-only options next month. Charlie's Restaurant was nice enough to allow us to cancel with no fee or food minimum. Thanks, Liz and Charlie's restaurant. Members will not be charged for your meal.
The speakers and presentation will be the same. The format will be the same as we used in 2020. At this time this is a one-month temporary modification.
The event will start at 6:15 pm.
6:15 pm-7:00 pm will be breakout rooms/social time, announcements, membership update, program update, and President update.
7:00pm-8:00pm will be our presentation - Defending Will Contests, Trust Contests, and Trust Administration Disputes
8:00pm- 8:30pm Question/Answer and closing comments.

The aging Baby Boomer population has led to a substantial increase in will and trust-related litigation, including claims based on alleged undue influence, absence of legal mental capacity, and trustee misconduct. How do these cases get litigated and settled or tried? We will discuss the process from initial petition through written discovery, depositions, trial, and appeal, as well as strategies for resolving these cases through mediation and settlement. Attendees will also be provided with tips regarding how to approach their deposition and trial testimony in these cases.
